Jake Paul expects to return to boxing late in the year but is 'serious' about fighting Oleksandr Usyk in MMA bout

Jake Paul expects to return to boxing later this year, but needs to recover fully from his broken jaw.

Paul, a social media influencer turned professional prizefighter, took on Anthony Joshua is a shock heavyweight contest and managed to go for six rounds with the former world champion.

The American sustained a broken jaw and is not yet able to take punches as he recovers.

Paul has already earned a fortune, but insists the injury has not deterred him from making a boxing comeback.

"I love fighting. I love all sides of it, even the broken jaw and all the things that come with the sport. I'm probably pretty crazy but there's definitely more for me to accomplish in the ring," he told Your Site.

Paul expects to box again before the end of the year, most likely in November or December.

"I think I can spar in four to five months. It's getting better day by day but it's definitely still annoying," he said.

"We'll see what happens when I get back to sparring and how it feels, but potentially could fight in November or December."

Paul has already called for a crossover contest with former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou, but he is no longer entertaining a rematch with Tommy Fury.

"We've tried so many times with the Furys and they are just pretty daft," he said. "I don't need to grant someone life, no one's heard of Tommy Fury.

"I'm not trying to negotiate any more with him. That's where things stand there."

Paul is now promoting an MMA event and insists that he is "serious" about possibly fighting the great unified heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk in a mixed martial arts contest himself.

"It's definitely serious, but we'll see what happens," Paul said. "I need to start training first. There's too many things to do in life."
